An Unique Potted Landscape - Huangguoshu, Guizhou

Tianxing Bridge scenic area (天星桥景区) is one of the most attractive sight in Huangguoshu Waterfalls National Park. It lies at the downstream 7km away from the Grand Fall. Its natural Karst cave, stone forest in water with Silver Chain sparkling waterfalls and potted landscape on water, had formed a mysterious and spectacular world to its visiting guests. The entire hilly site featured various limestone formations with caves, waterfalls, forests and ponds. Its landscapes that were mainly made up of natural rocks and water in different shapes and sizes, are rather impressive. It was named as The Bridge of Stars (天星桥) as there is a huge stone slab spanning across a gorge.

Potted Landscape sits on River Sancha. Karst limestone along its both sides were carved and shaped by calcification and erosion of weather and water through thousands and thousands of years . The stones look like potted plants in various shapes and sizes. I was about to begin my exploration with the Births Counting paved stones that were stretching along the river banks.

The number of stone steps laid scattering along the winding pathway are exactly 365, coincide with numbers of days in a calendar year. Each and every one can find his or her birth stone while strolling along the walking path.

Following the curbing of landscape, the flagstone-laid passage way winded through abandoned ditches and trenches, narrow cracks and caves, steep and sharp rock-faces and cliffs.

It was fun to walk across the river via the winding stone path and zigzag through the rocky hills. To stroll through the entire area of 0.2 sq km that stretched on the surface of River Sancha's deep water, takes about two hours.

Woman from Ethnic minority group could be seen at some corners offering the local wild fruits and typical products.

The wild rock honey, walnut and pear

Aesthetic rock formations.

Some kind of Cactus find its home here.

Beautiful sights in all directions along the path.

Who's birthday ?

What are these, wild honey ?

Was it an Alien who put that piece of rock up there?

The stone of Merry Christmas 25th December is here!

A little gorge !

The slim gap does not give way to those heavy weigh guys!

The little green leaves knitted hat attract many's attention.

The mystery of endless roots that concealed inside steep precipice that does not contain pitch of soil.

The long and arm-thick rattan are from a Banyan tree that was blown off by wind and hanged on to a tree opposite the valley.  It stays on and prosperous.  The forceful surviving strength was incredible.

A natural piece of stone carvings.

I was under the stone wall of nine dragons

Placing a stick at the rock on a hill to bless for a safety journey , is a practice in many parts of China.

The rock was like lifted up to mend the sky.

And the rock above me looks exactly like a lion barricading the pass!

This huge Indian fig tree that grow from a steep precipice, is classified as the Beauty of Banyan as the roots were so well developed and established, making people visualize it into a heavenly fairy that landed here to take the bath and dress up. The roots structure are indeed elegant and holy.

The narrow lane squeezing between two tall rocky walls leads to Tianxing Pond. They named it as Numerous Forms of Life, because the texture on the rock surface appear like different shapes of human postures.

Branches and roots of Banyan trees around here are like pieces of wooden art.

Villa Gaolaozhuang is another film shooting field of the show Journey to The West. The scene of Pig God after expelled from heaven, reincarnated and married the third daughter of Villa's owner, but having too much liquor and returned to its original pig form. He was subdued by Monkey god and became the 2nd disciple of Master Xuan-Zhang.

Beautiful sights of Tianxing lake.

Second half of Tianxing Scenic sights including its Caves and Silver Chain Waterfalls, are beyond the lake, which due to time restrain, we perhaps have to come and visit in our next trip.
