A Glimpse Of Yellow Plateau - Jiexiu

Standing in the towering shadows of Mianshan, the ancient City of Jiexiu has a history of more than 2500 years. All attractions associated with Mianshan are to be found in the city as well. It lies at south west end of Taiyuan Basin, in between north west Mianshan (绵山) and mother river of Shanxi, Fenhe (汾河). Jiexiu named after Jie-Zhitui (介之推), was the rest place of this royal defenders of Duke from Jin Dynasty (697-628 BC), who later enthroned as Emperor of Jin. Jie was reputed to have made soup with his thigh fresh for the duke who was then in starvation.
