Tunxi Ancient Street - Huangshan 黄山 。屯溪

Tunxi ancient street is a paradise for tourist to buy souvenirs rich in China culture with comparatively low price. It has wide distribution of ancient four treasure of study namely writing brushes, ink sticks, ink slabs and paper, the brick, wood, stone and bamboo carving products, the world famous Qimen black tea and Tunxi green tea, and other tourists odds and ends.

The centuries old history in the center of Tunxi was dated back to Song Dynasty (960-1279). Township was initially formed during 1082-1135 when Emperor Huizong moved his government to Lin An (Now Hangzhou) and conscripted many local architects and workmen to construct the new capital. The workers when returned home, imitated the structure style and constructed buildings along the road. The 47 stores invested and built by an Anhui merchant during Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) attracted traders and thus made the street a communication hub to connect the outside world. The place was further developed into a materials distribution center within the 267 years reign of Qing Dynasty.
